1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the EducationInFilm website and services, including our waitlist, early access programme, and (when made available to you) the Camera Trainee Masterclass and related online content.

By accessing or using our website or services, joining our waitlist, creating an account, or accepting an invitation to early access, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.

Our services are intended for individuals aged 18 and over who are interested in working in the UK film and television industry. All training is educational only. We do not guarantee employment, paid work, day rates, or any specific career outcome.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or services.

2. Services Overview

EducationInFilm currently offers:

• An open waitlist for the Camera Trainee Masterclass

• Early access for a limited number of people (see section 4)

• When access is granted: a self-paced online course — the Camera Trainee Masterclass — comprising 10 recorded video lessons, with lifetime access to that course content for as long as EducationInFilm continues to operate and provide the service

We may also provide downloadable resources or quizzes where available. Nothing on the site promises weekly live calls, mentoring sessions, or ongoing live coaching unless we expressly say so in writing for a specific offer.

What we do not currently offer under these Terms:

• Public paid enrolment or a paywall for the Masterclass (the course is not for sale publicly at the effective date of these Terms)

• Free in-person workshops or any workshop attendance benefit

• Job placement, introductions to productions, or guaranteed set experience

A public launch is anticipated around November (year and exact date not confirmed). Timing may change. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee a place, a launch date, or early access.

3. Eligibility and Account Creation

To use our services you must:

• Be at least 18 years old

• Provide accurate, complete information when joining the waitlist or creating an account

• Keep any login details secure and not share your account

You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including account sharing, misuse of content, or abusive behaviour.

Accounts and member/CRM systems are provided via Outseta. Video lessons and related video sales letter (VSL) content may be hosted or delivered via Flare.link. The marketing website is hosted on Framer.

4. Waitlist and Early Access

Waitlist

You may join an open waitlist via our website. Joining:

• Does not create a purchase contract

• Does not guarantee admission, early access, or a launch date

• Means we may contact you about the course, early access, and related educational updates (see also our Privacy Policy and marketing preferences)

Free early access (first 15)

Subject to availability, we may invite the first 15 eligible people on a first-come, first-served (FCFS) basis to free early access to the Camera Trainee Masterclass.

• Places are limited and not guaranteed until we confirm access in writing (for example by email or by unlocking your account)

• Early access is free of charge for those confirmed invitees

• “Lifetime” means access to the recorded Masterclass content we make available to you for as long as we continue to offer that course on our platform, subject to these Terms (including termination for breach)

• Early access does not include in-person workshops, weekly calls, or any benefit not expressly described when we invite you

We may change how waitlist or early access works, or pause invitations, by updating these Terms or by notice on the website or by email.

5. Course Access and Nature of Content

When you have been granted access:

• The Masterclass consists of 10 recorded lessons and any related materials we choose to include

• Access is self-paced and online

• Content is for your personal educational use only

• We may update, replace, or improve lessons from time to time

We do not promise that content is error-free or suitable for every production, workplace, or safety situation. Always follow the instructions of the production, your department, and applicable health and safety rules on set.

6. Intellectual Property and Content Use

All videos, materials, downloads, branding, and other content made available through EducationInFilm are the intellectual property of EducationInFilm (or our licensors).

You may not:

• Share, resell, rent, or distribute our content to others

• Upload our materials to third-party platforms (for example YouTube, social media, file-sharing sites, or private Discords/groups)

• Record, scrape, or systematically copy lessons

• Reproduce, modify, or claim ownership of any of our content

• Share account credentials so others can watch under your login

Unauthorised use may result in suspension or permanent removal of access and, where appropriate, legal action.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use our website and services responsibly, including:

• Not sharing your account or login credentials

• Not attempting to reverse engineer, hack, scrape, or misuse the platform

• Not posting offensive, abusive, discriminatory, or harmful content when interacting with us or (if enabled) other users

• Not using our services for any unlawful purpose

We may suspend or permanently disable access for anyone violating these Terms.

8. Marketing and Communications

Depending on how you interact with us, you may receive:

• Service / transactional messages — for example waitlist confirmation, account notices, early access invitations, and important service updates

• Marketing emails — for example course updates and educational offers, where you have opted in or where otherwise permitted under UK law

Marketing email is typically sent via MailerLite. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email footer or by contacting jack@educationinfilm.com. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop essential service messages related to your account or access.

9. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

• All training is provided for educational purposes only. We do not guarantee job placement, income, day rates, or results.

• While we aim for accuracy, we do not promise that all content is free from error or suitable for every situation on set.

• To the fullest extent permitted by law, EducationInFilm is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of our website or services.

• Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time (for example when we open paid enrolment, change processors, or change how early access works). Changes will be posted on our website with a new effective date. Continued use of the platform after updates means you accept the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires a different process.

If we later offer the Masterclass for purchase, we will update these Terms to cover price, payment, and any refund or cancellation rights before public paid sale.

11. Termination of Access

We reserve the right to:

• Remove or restrict access to any user who violates these Terms

• Disable access to specific features or the course in cases of breach, especially unauthorised sharing or content misuse

• Suspend or close waitlist or early access invitations if we discontinue or materially change the programme

If your access was provided free of charge, termination for breach does not create any right to compensation. Statutory rights that cannot be excluded remain unaffected.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us first at jack@educationinfilm.com so we can try to resolve it informally.

If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes may be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales (subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you).

13. Third-Party Tools and Services

We use trusted third-party tools to deliver and support our services, including:

• Outseta — accounts and CRM

• Framer — website hosting

• Flare.link — video / VSL hosting and delivery

• MailerLite — email marketing and waitlist communications

• Google Analytics and Hotjar — analytics and experience insights (used with your consent where required)

These providers process data in line with their own privacy policies and applicable law. See our Privacy Policy for more detail. We are not responsible for third-party sites linked from our website.
